Time Event
Sending an email to a server to make it run a shell script...
Google.com/linux hasn't been helpful on this topic. Probably because I'm searching for the wrong thing. So point me in the right direction if you will.

I would like to send an email with a certain subject to a server running MailScanner/Sendmail on RH 8ish, then have the server then run a shell script. Preferably I would like for it to see the email from address and subject then from that run a certain script, but for the time being just getting it to run a simple script to write a file would be nice for a start.

So point me to a site or give me a better search string .. something.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any idea why I would be receiving these types of
messages, or for that matter what could be failing to resolve? Also, I
noticed several files in /usr/local/mailman/tests...One of them being
test_smtp.py. Can I somehow run that script to test the SMTP
functionality, and perhaps figure out why/what/where something is
failing? I have been at this one for almost a week now and am starting
to run out of ideas. Thanks in advance!

Current Mood: frustrated
I've got a really annoying problem with my wifi card and the use of MadWifi. I've posted full details here. If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it. Thanks in advance.
