Portage temp files
/var/tmp/portage has become so indidated by emerge records that it's at 3.5gigs, I'd like to
clean this out, however, don't know a safe way. Is there an equivalent of pkg-clean for temp files? Thanks. Oh, I don't use /var/tmp/portage by default, instead I have it mapped to another directory, just an FYI incase any l337 scripts might choke on that.
Library problems
So I compiled the netpbm package from source on my Slackware box, and ran it's make install (nonstandard, ugh) script, which put everything under /usr/local/netpbm. The problem is, none of the binaries under /usr/local/netpbm run, as they require libraries under /usr/local/netpbm/lib. I haven't had to deal with this before, and I was wondering what would be a good course of action to remedy the situation...
