GTK+ upgrade.
Would anyone happen to know how to go about converting gtk-1.x.x themes to gtk-2.x.x? I've been using Cyrus for ages and have become quite attached to it.

Dual routers - Gateway router + wireless router = ?
Hey all, got a weird one.

In a perfect world I would have a regular joe schmoe router and then a cheap dumb wireless point (WAP) and life would be easy for me. Instead I have this

I have a wired router and I have a wireless G router. Both are Netgear. No this wasn’t my choice this is what I have to work with - at least they’re the same brand.

Using strictly a wireless router for the home network, my wireless users eat all the bandwidth up before my machines get a chance at it, and this will just not do. Presently the network looks like this (kinda - pardon my crappy ascii).

=======|WIRELESS router|================|switch|========|my machines|
...................\\
....................\\=====(wireless boxen)

What I’d like it to look like is this

=======|wired router|================|switch|========|my machines|
....................................................................\\
.....................................................................\\=====(WAP)==========(wireless machines)

Using what I have to work with, am trying to get this to work

=======|wired router|================|switch|========|my machines|
...................................................................\\
....................................................................\\=========(WIRELESS router)==========(wireless machines)

This last model, while not ideal is actually probably perfect with what we’re doing. All the machines that will be behind that wireless router are actually all Apples running iTunes and thus eating up bandwidth streaming off each others music libraries so while not ideal, actually not bad when you consider the whole. Again its nothing a WAP couldn’t do but I dont’ have a WAP, I have a wireless router.

Anyways, Im just having a bugger of a time trying to figure out how to configure these two routers to work with each other. Can anyone provide some help or point to a howto?

i installed gaim a while back, and as a dependency installed gtkspell, but it would highlight almost every word as misspelled (except a, i, that sort of thing). i figured i didnt have a dictionary loaded, so i installed the english aspell dictionary, but it still didnt help. i reinstalled gtkspell and even gaim, but it still highlights almost every word. i've also had no luck going through the aspell files, cause it looks like the english dictionary loaded just fine. so, i dont know what to do now. help!

thanks =)

Fast User Switching
Has anyone implemented something similar to XP-style Fast User Switching? I ask because I'd like to let visitors use my desktop machine without having to logout of my X session and destroy all my hard-earned state.

(or is there some hidden feature that makes this unnecessary that I haven't discovered yet?)

Edit: I currently use Knoppix w/ Fluxbox, though I am open to change.
