DNS question
if I want to set up a DNS server, and have anyone on the internet be able to access "name.com", what would I need to do once I set up the DNS server software?

also, what is a good software to use to setup a DNS server?
smb fun
My job has SMB servers as network file shares.

My laptop is running fedora core 1.

I've been having far too much difficulty getting them to talk.

The biggest annoyance is if I enter an account and password, and it's wrong, there doesn't seem to be any way of entering another password without rebooting the computer. Is this a nautilus thing? Is there a file in /tmp or /var that I can piff to fix the problem?

Is there any good documentation on using a linux box with an smb server? I've kind of poked around, and can find books on samba.
System reboot/halt as user
I can reboot and halt my Debian system as superuser, but there's no easy way to do it under my normal user account. How would I enable reboot/halt for just my account? Having to su just to shut down is getting a bit tedious. TIA!

(And no, leaving my computer running 24/7 isn't an option. It's a desktop system, and I'm trying to stay energy conscious.)
