an emacs question
Okay, here's another question, which probably has a really simple and obvious answer. I'm launching emacs as a text editor from a couple of applications. What I would really like it to do is open the new file in a buffer in an existing instance of emacs, rather than launch a whole new one each time.

I'm assuming there's some sort of command line option to do this pretty obvious thing, yet I can't see anything suitable in the documentation. Any ideas? (I'm using emacs 21.1.1, by the way.)
