kernel build fails due to kernel package

I'm trying to compile a debian kernel from source and came across this bug.

Wanted to know where the right place to post the bug at is?

Bug:

# fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-custom kernel_image kernel_headers

....

====== making target debian/stamp/install/linux-image-2.6.36-custom [new prereqs: ]======
This is kernel package version 11.015.
echo "The UTS Release version in include/linux/version.h"; echo " \"\" "; echo "does not match current version:"; echo " \"2.6.36-custom\" "; echo "Please correct this."; exit 2
The UTS Release version in include/linux/version.h
""
does not match current version:
"2.6.36-custom"
Please correct this.
make[1]: *** [debian/stamp/install/linux-image-2.6.36-custom] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.36'
make: *** [kernel_image] Error 2
dejatest:/usr/src/linux# find . |grep release
./arch/powerpc/platforms/iseries/release_data.h
./Documentation/arm/VFP/release-notes.txt
./include/generated/utsrelease.h
./include/config/arch/cpu/probe/release.h
./include/config/kernel.release
dejatest:/usr/src/linux# cat ./include/generated/utsrelease.h
#define UTS_RELEASE "2.6.36-custom"
dejatest:/usr/src/linux# cat ./include/linux/version.h
#define LINUX_VERSION_CODE 132644
#define KERNEL_VERSION(a,b,c) (((a) << 16) + ((b) << 8) + (c))

THE FIX:
cd /usr/src/linux
cat ./include/generated/utsrelease.h >> ./include/linux/version.h
