EEE 901 tales of woe etc

I'm thinking about getting an EEE 901 to replace my current aging 701. Ah, I'm not fooling myself when I say "thinking" - the gadget lust has me, I will succumb.

I've been reasonably happy with the standard Xandros that was on the 701, even if there are some odd decisions that they made regarding libraries. On the other hand a nice Ubuntu install would be more compatible with my desktop and just generally feel a bit more flexible. There's an Ubuntu Netbook Remix out there which seems to be quite popular.

Does anyone have any tales of joy or woe regarding putting this, or for that matter any other distro, onto an EEE? Things they wish they'd known?
